TCTC offering computer courses

CHAMPION

The Trumbull Career and Technical Center Adult Training Center is offering a 720-hour computer technology program for potential full-time students, starting Jan. 13.

The course will feature a hands-on use of new technology, and course highlights include a focus on Microsoft Office 2010, basic programming and the Adobe Professional suite.

The $6,155 cost of the program will include an iPad 2 and fees for five Microsoft Office Specialist certification exams and the ACA certification exam.

The course is financial-aid eligible.

Interested students may call TCTC to register until the day the program starts.

All classes will run Monday through Thursday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

YSU seminar focuses on Africa

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University will host the “Why Africa Now!” seminar, aimed at educating businesses interested in improving their position on the continent about emerging financial opportunities there.

Guest speaker Patrick Griswold, a professional with decades of business experience in Africa, will lead the meeting from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 16 in Room 3422 of the Williamson College of Business Administration.

Cost of the seminar is $20 per person.

Informational MBA session at YSU

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration will host an MBA information session Tuesday.

The session will start at 5:45 p.m. in Room 3418 on the third floor of Williamson Hall.

The school’s MBA program, accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, is offered on campus and online.

EGCC Valley Center to host tour days

YOUNGSTOWN

Eastern Gateway Community College’s Valley Center will host tours for students interested in applying for the spring semester.

The “Tour, Explore, Enroll Days,” which will take place Monday and Dec. 16 from 5 to 8 p.m., will include information on courses and programs of study.

Admissions and advising staff also will be on hand.

Registration for the event is open Monday through Friday.

Warehouse bought

NORTH JACKSON

The Things Remembered warehouse has been purchased by the Boston-based Stag Industrial Inc., according to the Mahoning County Auditor’s website.

Stag, which specializes in acquiring industrial and distribution properties, bought the 200-square-foot building last month.

The auditor’s website lists the facility’s appraisal value at more than $7 million.
