Meeting Monday to discuss revised Columbiana property values

Staff report

LISBON

Columbiana County Auditor Nancy Milliken said the county Board of Revision has completed its changes to property values for 2013 tax year (2014 collection year), and those values are available for review by county residents.

Additionally, it was noted that complaints against those values will not be accepted by the county auditor’s office.

After corrections to soil types, local farmers will see increases of more than 40 percent in their values. The Columbiana County Farm Bureau and Milliken have scheduled an informal meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at United Local Schools, 8143 state Route 9, Hanoverton, to explain the values.

Milliken said complaints cannot be accepted at her office and can be filed only with the state.

Residential values were decreased by approximately 2.9 percent countywide. Milliken said there basically was no change in industrial and/or commercial property.

Though the new values are available for review in her office, Milliken stated her website has not been updated yet to show the new values.
