Lisbon post awards
The Ohio State Highway Patrol Lisbon Post has awarded Trooper Jodi Bowlen and Dispatcher Geraldo Muniz with the 2013 Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper of the Year Award and 2013 Ohio State Highway Patrol Telecommunications Award, respectively.
Post peers chose Bowlen based on her leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.
She joined the patrol in 2010 and first served at the Bucyrus Patrol Post before transferring to the Lisbon post in 2011. She is a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Youngstown State University. She lives in Austintown.
Muniz was chosen for his technical job knowledge and ability, enthusiastic work attitude, teamwork, and prompt and courteous response to the public’s requests for information and assistance, according to a patrol press release.
He joined the patrol in February 2008 as a dispatcher assigned to the Lisbon Dispatch Center. Muniz is originally from Chicago. He is a graduate of The Rayen School and earned an associate’s degree in both paralegal studies and applied business from ETI College in Niles.
Muniz, his son Miguel, and daughter Audrina, live in Campbell.
