YOUNGSTOWN

Rachel Bradshaw, the daughter of former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw, will be the opening act for the Jan. 18 concert by country star Josh Turner at Stambaugh Auditorium.

For tickets, go to stambaughauditorium.com, or call 330-259-0555. Prices range from $21 to $51. The concert starts at 8 p.m.

Bradshaw has wanted to be a singer for as long as she can remember.

“Ever since I was young, I knew that music was different for me, and I felt like it was my calling,” she said in a press release. “I didn’t just like listening to the radio — it was all I wanted to do. I loved performing and writing, and it was kind of an obsession for me.”

Growing up in the suburbs of Dallas, Bradshaw would perform at Texas oprys and fairs. She performed her first live show at age 9.

Her gritty, lower-pitched voice, coupled with musical influences such as Patsy Cline, the Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain, give her a unique yet familiar sound. Her style is evident in songs such as the female fight song “She Did Me a Favor” and the somber satire “Pain Killer.”

Turner, a South Carolina native, first reached the charts in the mid-2000s with the singles “Your Man” and “Would You Go With Me.”

He released his fifth studio album, “Punching Bag,” in 2012, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. The debut single, “Time is Love,” was No. 1 on the Best of 2012 Billboard Country Chart.
