Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
The discussion prompted by the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy will continue this weekend.
Two weeks ago, Victorian Players Theater opened its production of “Specter of Treason — The Oswald Trial,” by J.E. Ballantyne Jr.
On Saturday, “JFK and Dallas,” a free, daylong seminar featuring nationally known JFK-assassination researchers will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the Chestnut Room at Kilcawley Center, at Youngstown State University.
Led by forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, who will give a presentation on JFK’s autopsy, the seminar also will feature Debra Conway from JFK Lancer Productions and Publications in Dallas, one of the largest JFK- assassination research organizations in the country.
Also participating will be Sherry Fiester, a crime-scene investigator and forensic pathologist. Her presentation will focus on blood spatter and the bullet trajectory of the fatal head shot to the president.
Steve Jones will offer a presentation that aims to prove that Lee Harvey Oswald could not have shot JFK because of his location in the building, and Jerry Policoff of The Assassination Archives and Research Center will explain the role of the media from Nov. 22, 1963, to the present.
All participants will take part in a panel discussion toward the end of the day.
Those who plan to attend are asked to preregister at specteroftreason.com, although it is not mandatory. A full schedule and agenda can be found on the website.
Tickets are still available for the final weekend of “Specter of Treason” this Friday through Sunday at Victorian Players Theater, 702 Mahoning Ave. Call 330-746-5455 for reservations.
