City firefighters battle fires at two vacant buildings

YOUNGSTOWN

City firefighters battled fires at two vacant buildings Thursday.

Crews called to 1161 McGuffey Road on the East Side about 12:50 p.m. Thursday found a small fire in a vacant office building. Damage is listed at $1,000.

At 1607 E. Indianola Ave., crews called at 8:50 p.m. found a fire in the second floor and attic of a two-story home and managed to contain the fire there. Damage is listed at $4,800, a total loss.

There were no injuries in either blaze.
