Boardman police charged a Boardman woman with forgery after her grandmother accused her of cashing 11 checks totaling $15,300.
Jenna Cercone, 23, of Valley View Drive is charged with a third-degree felony of forgery.
Cercone appeared in Mahoning County Court in Boardman on Thursday on the charge. She was released following the arraignment.
Cercone’s grandmother first filed a police report in September. She told police she noticed her checking account was overdrawn and realized 11 checks were written and cashed beginning in July. She was able to obtain copies of the checks from the bank.
In addition to the missing checks, she also discovered $2,000 missing from a lockbox at her residence.
