An antiques, holiday decorations, collectibles and jewelry sale, one of Angels for Animals biggest fundraisers, runs through this weekend.

The sale runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday in Andrews Hall at Angels.

“We usually raise between $10,000 and $25,000 so it’s one of our bigger ones,” said Diane Less, Angels co-founder.

The garage sale, conducted each spring at the Canfield Fairgrounds, is the biggest fundraiser for the shelter.

Money raised enables Angels to continue to operate, providing shelter, food and care to the roughly 150 cats and kittens and 25 dogs and puppies housed there.

There is a $5 admission charge for Friday’s sale which includes a wine and cheese event. Less estimated that 50 to 100 people attend the Friday evening fete.

There is no charge for Saturday or Sunday admittance and on Sunday, shoppers can wheel and deal for items.

Between 300 and 400 people will come through the sale during the weekend, Less said.

This marks at least the eighth year that Angels had conducted the antique sale.

Angels for Animals started in 1990 and moved into its current quarters on state Route 165 in 2000.
