Police found nine bags of marijuana in an SUV Monday morning after pulling it over for speeding on the East Side.
Officers Josh Kelly and Mike Anderson were working a speed detail about 11:20 a.m. on the Himrod Avenue Expressway when they clocked the SUV speeding and pulled it over at the Albert Street exit.
As the officers approached the SUV they could see the front seat passenger moving around frantically, reports said, and they could see marijuana seeds on the seat where he was sitting.
The driver, Carla Stubbs, 35, tried to zip up her purse before leaving her purse but Kelly could see a bag of marijuana sticking out of it, reports said.
There were two bags of marijuana in the sandwich bag and seven more in a makeup bag inside the purse, reports said. There were also several empty bags that had a skull engraved on them, reports said.
Stubbs was arrested for driving under suspension and trafficking in drugs. The passenger was released.
