Pa. lawmaker from Grove City retiring

GROVE CITY, PA. — State Rep. Dick Stevenson, R-8th, who has served in the Pennsylvania House since 2001, will not seek re-election in next year’s election.

“I have been proud to represent the interests of the individuals, families, organizations and businesses that call the 8th District home,” said Stevenson of Grove City.

The district includes Mercer and Butler counties.

Stevenson didn’t give a reason for why he isn’t running for re-election next year in his retirement announcement today.

During his tenure, Stevenson sponsored nine bills that directly affect small businesses, veterans, and local government that became law.

Before his state service, Stevenson chaired the Board of the Mercer County commissioners and was a member and president of Grove City Borough Council.
