Man pleads guilty in Ohio toddler's death

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — The former boyfriend of an Ohio woman has pleaded guilty in connection with the slaying of the woman’s daughter whose remains were found three months after she was reported missing in June.

Twenty-four-year-old Steven King II pleaded guilty today in a Toledo courtroom to aggravated murder, tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, and obstructing justice. The plea deal calls for a life sentence with parole eligibility after 25 years.

The mother, Angela Steinfurth, is due in court later today to face similar charges.

Investigators spent the past six months looking into what happened to 19-month-old Elaina Steinfurth before a grand jury on Monday indicted the pair on charges linking them to the little girl’s death.
