Man accused of pulling knife on store clerk

WARREN

James Harris III, 57, of Main Avenue southwest has been arraigned on one count of aggravated robbery after a clerk at Family Dollar, 378 Elm Road NE, accused him of threatening her with a box-cutter type knife Saturday.

An innocent plea was entered for him in Warren Municipal Court Monday, and a judge set bond at $15,000.

The clerk said Harris was trying to conceal diapers under his coat, and she approached him about it at 5:07 p.m.

That’s when Harris “pulled” the knife, according to a police report. Harris was arrested a short distance from the store and had two knives in his possession. The clerk identified him as the man in question.

If convicted, Harris could get 10 years in prison.
