The city council is moving toward replacing a main waterline on Colliers Court.

The project would cost $125,000, with $47,500 of it a state grant, said Hubbard Mayor John Darko.

“It’s an old, antiquated steel line,” said Dan Livingston, the city’s services director.

He said the line, which is a main feed line for the city, had a major break last year. “It’s outlasted its usefulness,” he said.

The project also includes valve replacement.

Council has asked the city’s law director to write legislation concerning the project.

The legislation will go through three readings.
