$1M bond for man charged in Ohio crash
CLYDE, Ohio (AP) — Bond has been set at $1 million for a northeast Ohio man charged after troopers say he was traveling at more than 125 mph when his car struck a minivan, killing a couple.
Andrew D. Gans of Kent faces two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide with a reckless specification after Thursday night’s crash on the Ohio Turnpike, where both vehicles burst into flames.
The Toledo Blade reports that bond was set at $500,000 for each count for the 24-year-old Gans at a hearing today in Sandusky County court.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the victims — Wilbur and Margaret McCoy, both 77, of Toledo — were wearing seat belts when they were hit and were trapped inside of the minivan.
