Trash-and-treasure sale planned at church

YOUNGSTOWN

Metropolitan Baptist Church, 351 W. Rayen Ave., is preparing for a trash-and-treasure fundraiser Sept. 7.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. and will include tools, jewelry, household items, school items, food and clothing — all priced to sell.

Kravitz Deli will feature Tamburitzans

Happy Hearts Croatian Tamburitzans will be featured from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 21 at Kravitz Deli, 3135 Belmont Ave.

The group recently returned from an international convocation in Zagre, Croatia.

It is sponsored by Lodge 66 of the Croatian Fraternal Union and Sts. Peter and Paul Worship Site of Holy Apostles Parish.

A $5 donation will be taken at the door; bagels and coffee will be provided.

Yellow Brick Place will sponsor fashion show

The board members of the Yellow Brick Place are planning the second annual Survivor’s Bloom fashion show fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St.

A canned good or nonperishable item will be collected at the door to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen.

Tickets are $30 per person and include a luncheon and fashions provided by Talbot’s and The Children’s Loft.

Co-founders Detwiler and Anna Aey, both cancer survivors, founded the nonprofit organization in 2010. They are committed to helping others with cancer.
