Reports: Gerberry, Vallos survive NFL cutdown day

Boardman High graduate Steve Vallos, a lineman with the Denver Broncos, and Fitch High graduate Dan Gerberry , a lineman with the Jacksonville Jaguars, have both survived NFL cutdown day, according to multiple reports.

Among the cuts involving area players: Canfield High graduate Sean Baker, a safety with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Warren Harding graduate Dan Herron, a RB with the Cincinnati Bengals; and ex-YSU RB Jamaine Cook, who was with the Browns. All three are eligible to sign with their teams' practice squads.

NFL teams had to cut rosters from 75 to 53 today.
