Upcoming new road projects in Mahoning County by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

State Routes 11 and 46, Beaver Township, until further notice, Route 46 under Route 11 is reduced to one lane, with traffic maintained by a traffic signal for bridge-painting operations. This restriction will remain in place through mid-October. Route 11 over Calla Route and Route 11 over Route 46 have various daily lane restrictions until further notice for bridge-deck replacements. This work is part of $3.1 million project to re-deck the Route 11 bridges over Calla and Route 46. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by May 2014.

State Route 46, Green Township, until further notice, Route 46 between Cook Road and West Middletown Road has various lane restrictions for roadway widening. This work is part of a $750,000 project to add turn lanes and a pedestrian tunnel at Route 46 at the South Range School District. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late October.

Route 46 in Green Township, from Wednesday until further notice, Route 46 will be closed for 75 days between Western Reserve Road and Leffingwell Road for a bridge replacement. The detour will be Route 11 to U.S. Route 224 to Route 46/U.S. Route 62. This work is the beginning of a $720,000 project to replace a culvert on Route 46 between Lesher Road and state Route 165. The project also includes a bridge replacement on Route 46 between Western Reserve and Leffingwell roads. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by late November.

U.S. Route 62 and U.S. Route 224 in Canfield, Tuesday until further notice, Route 224 from Route 62 to Talsman Drive and Route 62 from Callahan Road to Scott Street will have various lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is part of a $1 million project to resurface Route 224 between Route 62 and Talsman and Route 62 in Canfield. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late October.

State Route 616 in Coitsville, Tuesday until Sept. 6, Route 616 just south of U.S. Route 422 will have various lane restrictions for pavement and drainage repairs.

Interstate 680 and Route 224 in Poland and Boardman, until further notice, the following closure and restriction is currently in place at the I-680 and U.S. 224 interchange: The ramp from I-680 northbound to U.S. 224 is closed through mid-October. The detour is Western Reserve Road to South Avenue.

Route 224 between I-680 and Tiffany Boulevard is reduced to one lane in each direction for roadway widening and interchange modifications. Motorists should expect delays in this area.
