Fleeing suspect arrested after crash into cruiser

CAMPBELL — A suspect who led police on a chase that resulted in him hitting a police cruiser was arraigned today.

Devin Thompson, 20, of Duncan Lane in Youngstown will go back to Campbell Municipal Court Sept. 6 for pretrial on misdemeanor charges and a preliminary hearing on felony charges.

He was required to post at least 10 percent of his $37,000 bond, but did not do so, said the court. He will be sent to the Mahoning County jail.

Police tried to stop Thompson Tuesday night for an obstructed rearview mirror.

He led police on a chase from Gladstone Street to busy McCartney Road, then back on side streets to Clinton where he hit the K9 cruiser, police said.
