Boys golf defeats Poland

The Canfield boys golf team defeated Poland 162-163 on Aug. 26. Top players for Canfield were Dom Carano (37), Vince Leone (42), Charlie Loomis (42), Jarret Vrabel (48) and Andrew Letscher (48). Isaiah Pouliot 41

Canfield tops Cardinal Mooney

The Canfield girls volleyball team defeated Cardinal Mooney 3-2. Top performers for Canfield were Janie Rafoth with 36 assists and 27 digs, Darby Hepola with seven blocks, Rachel Rafoth with 48 digs and Morgan Leonard with nine kills.

Canfield girls take on Champion

The Canfield girls volleyball team defeated Champion 3-0 (25-7, 25-15, 25-11) on Aug. 22. Top players for Canfield were Darby Hepola with 13 kills, Natalie Garritano with six digs and Janie Rafoth with 30 assists to make 19 points.

Canfield defeats Boardman

The Canfield girls varsity volleyball team defeated Boardman 3 games to 1 in a four-set game. Top players for Canfield were Emma Hartshorn with 18 kills, Rachel Rafoth with 36 digs and Emma Hartshorn with 17 points.

Canfield takes on Howland

The Canfield boys golf team defeated Howland 158-172 on Aug. 22. Top players for Canfield were Dom Carano (35), Vince leone (36), Jarret Vrabel (42) and Isaiah Pouliot (45). Canfield is now 4-0 in conference play.

Reserved seats on sale

Canfield High School football reserved seat season tickets went on sale to the general public Aug. 19 from the high school athletic office. The cost is $48. Office hours are 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. weekdays. Call 330-533-5341 for more information.

Boys soccer opens season

The Canfield High School boys soccer team hosted the Crestview Rebels Aug. 20 for their season opener

In a hard fought turf battle, Canfield lost to Crestview 3-2. The Cardinals’ 14 shots on goal led to two goals for Brady Clark. Sophomore goalie Jeff Joseph had one save, and sophomore Trevor Wilson had three saves. The 2013 Cardinals are led by Coach Phil Simone and senior captains Brady Clark and Jona Ghossain. Three additional seniors compliment the varsity roster: Ronnie Mangie, Trevor English and Joe Durkin.
