Herb guild presents scholarship

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Each year the Holborn Herb Growers Guild awards a scholarship to a student who will be advancing his or her education in some form of horticulture. On the right, Yvonne Ford, president of Holborn Herb Growers Guild, presented a $1,000 check to Michelle Edwards, center. On the left is Terry Ham, scholarship chairwoman. Edwards is a second-year student at Ohio State University Agricultural Technology Institute. The guild’s purpose is to educate members and the public about the culture and uses of herbs. The guild maintains the summer kitchen gardens at Boardman Park and the gardens at the Western Reserve Village at Canfield Fairgrounds.
