Charged with theft

boardman

Township police arrested a Munroe Falls man, charging him with theft by deception in a March incident involving an elderly man.

The victim, 91, answered a newspaper ad for a plumber and paid $1,450 for plumbing work at his township home that was never done. Police originally arrested another man they identified through the victim’s check. That man, who said he was just a driver, led them to Todd Zumerling, 45. Police picked up Zumerling on Tuesday in Lake Milton where he was taken by Munroe Falls Police. Munroe Falls is in Summit County, between Stow and Tallmadge.

Zumerling was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center with a police hold when the Mahoning County jail wouldn’t accept him because of a medical condition.
