FBI agents and Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a city man on child-pornography charges Monday.

Leslie James Coe, 67, was arrested after a search warrant was served at his home Friday. He was taken into custody on a federal charge of receiving or distributing child pornography.

The FBI and the sheriff’s office investigated the case.

An affidavit filed in the U.S. Northern District Court of Ohio said the investigation began in March when an undercover agent in the FBI’s Philadelphia office downloaded child pornography, and they were traced back in May to Coe’s home in Youngstown.

Coe was interviewed by investigators the same day the search warrant was served and he admitted distributing and viewing child pornography, the affidavit states.

The affidavit said Coe allowed others to view his files through a file-sharing program and looked at pictures of children ranging in age from infants to 17. He looked at images the night before the warrant was served at his home, reports said.

Coe will remain in custody until a detention hearing next week before U.S. Magistrate Judge George Limbert.
