Lincoln Univ. student guilty in crash that killed 1


WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — A former Lincoln University student has been found guilty of multiple charges stemming from a November 2011 crash near the southeastern Pennsylvania campus that killed one friend and seriously injured another.

The Chester County judge’s verdict today means that 23-year-old Phillip Tomsic will likely go to prison for at least three years.

The Daily Local News said Tomsic was convicted of charges including homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, aggravated assault while DUI, involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment.

Prosecutors said Tomsic hit a tree while traveling more than 80 miles an hour. His friend Anthony Washington was killed instantly and friend Kadeem Fulmore lost his right foot and his left leg and suffered brain injury and severe burns. He is still hospitalized.
