Drug task force rounds up 32 Ohio suspects charged

MARION, Ohio (AP) — Several dozen people have been charged or arrested in a roundup by a drug task force in northern Ohio.

WBNS-TV in Columbus reports 32 of 46 people indicted were arrested Tuesday in the task force operation focusing on alleged drug trafficking around Marion, about 45 miles north of Columbus.

Those arrests stemmed from a months-long investigation in which investigators bought heroin, cocaine and prescription medication from suspects.

Marion police Maj. Bill Collins tells The Marion Star that the effort in conjunction with the county sheriff’s office fulfills a promise by law enforcement to crack down on illegal drug sales in the area.

He says marijuana was found on at least one suspect, and officers seized more than $3,000.
