ASHTABULA

Beatitude House of Youngstown received a $15,000 grant from the Ashtabula Foundation for A House of Blessing Ashtabula, the nonprofit organization’s transitional housing site on Lake Avenue in Ashtabula.

The organization was welcomed to the Ashtabula Community when it opened the newest program in June 2012.

The old St. Joseph Elementary School was renovated into 10 apartments for homeless families.

Beatitude House also provides families with support services including counseling, parenting classes, educational opportunities and child advocacy. This comprehensive program provides families with the tools to move from homelessness and poverty to stable housing and financial stability.

Last year, Beatitude House served 20 women and 26 children at the Ashtabula site.
