Austintown schools deal to sell middle school set aside

AUSTINTOWN

The Austintown School Board has passed a resolution rescinding the purchase agreement of the former Austintown Middle School to LRC Realty.

The nearly 15-acre property was sold on April 24, but LRC Realty decided not to execute the real estate purchase agreement.

“The Board of Education voted today to rescind the purchase agreement after the LRC Realty decision,” Superintendent Vince Colaluca said. “The Board of Education has made several attempts to finalize the situation acting with diligence on behalf of the community.”

The school board has had other inquiries wanting to purchase the property. The Board of Education will be accepting offers for the property at 5800 Mahoning Avenue.
