Two attempted abductions reported in Warren

WARREN
Two attempted abductions were reported in the city over the weekend, with one of them involving a man about 50 to 60 with white hair in a red and silver/beige pickup truck attempting to entice a 5-year-old girl into his truck.
The incident occurred at 4:40 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Belmont Street Northeast.
The girl’s mother said the man at first “asked [the child] to come here, but that [the child] refused. At this point the male said something to the effect of: ‘I said come here.’”
The child, who was in the front yard, reported the incident to her mother, who also was in the yard. The mother saw the truck pull away but didn’t get a license-plate number.
At 9:01 that evening, a Peace Avenue Northwest resident reported that a known male tried to get her 8-year-old son and another juvenile to get into his car in the 2100 block of Peace. The youths didn’t get into the car.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old resident of the 1800 block of Parkman Road Northwest reported that two known people entered her home while she was in the shower at 6:19 p.m. Friday. Police are investigating it as a burglary. Police reported that it was not known whether anything had been stolen.
A similar incident was reported in March, when three men wearing black ski masks broke into a house on Clearwater Avenue Northwest and robbed a 33-year-old woman while she was taking a shower.
Police were called to the 300 block of Reo Court Northwest at 3:25 a.m. Saturday for a burglary. The 22-year-old female resident reported that she was awakened by an unidentified male breaking in through a window. Nothing was reported missing.
A 17-year-old resident of Masury reported being sexually assaulted in the 800 block of Adams Avenue Northwest at 4:59 p.m. Friday. No other information was provided.
At 11:35 p.m. Saturday, a Logan Avenue Southeast resident reported that a “darker” colored vehicle drove past his home and fired two to three shots into his house.
Police found two holes that appeared to be from a small-caliber firearm, in the front entry door and on the detached garage.
The police department’s Street Crimes Unit also made a fourth arrest Friday afternoon related to an investigation at the North End Market on North Park Avenue.
Police charged James Beatty, 41, of 1846 Parkman Road NW with (crack) cocaine possession, a felony.
