Two will be honored at Columbus Day dinner-show

Dance teacher Judy Conti and trucking company founder Dan Sebastiani will be honored at the 18th annual Columbus Day Dinner and Show on Oct. 13 at The Georgetown banquet center, 5945 South Ave.

Doors open at 4 p.m. with dinner first and the show at 6. Tickets are $45, with discounts for senior citizens and groups of eight. Call Trolio’s T-Shirts in Poland at 330-757-2779.

The dinner-show, sponsored by Tony Trolio’s Ciao Promotions, has honored more than 60 local Italians since its inception.

Entertaiment will include Lights Out, an a capella vocal harmony group that offers a choreographed tribute to Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons for years.

Sumona DeRosa, a New York-based but Italian-born singer, is the opening act. DeRosa performed at the Italian Heritage Festival in Warren earlier this month.

Judy Conti

Conti has been involved in dance and dance education since she began training at age 5. She studied with the June Taylor School of Dance in New York each summer for 10 years and the Broadway Dance Center. In 1981, Conti spent two months in Europe with the Like Living Stones Ministry to teach dance and mime at Christian workshops.

Conti is married to Dennis Katsaras, a retired teacher and coach, and they have two grown children: Kim and Scott.

Danilo “Dan” Sebastiani

Sebastiani was born in Marana, Italy, and his family came to Youngstown in 1958.

In 1965, he started Sebastiani Trucking, a commercial hauling company specializing in dump-truck services. Over the past 48 years, Sebastiani Trucking has grown to become a leader in the industry. Today, Sebastiani Trucking operates out of Canfield. Sebastiani is the CEO and owner.

He and his wife, Beatrice, have three children: Emilio, Angelica Folsom and Danilo. They also have two grandchildren: Nicolas and Angelina Folsom.
