‘Matchmaker’ opens Victorian players

Victorian Players, 702 Mahoning Ave., will open its 22nd season with the Thornton Wilder comedy “The Matchmaker” on Sept. 13.

The play will have a three- weekend run through Sept. 29. Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Adult tickets are $12, and student and senior tickets are $9. Group rates are available as are special student group rates. For reservations, call 330-746-5455.

For the Dogs, a nonprofit organization, will sponsor a show featuring comedians of Raise the Woof and DJ services of Highly Productions on Sept. 7 at Magic Tree Pub & Eatery, 7463 South Ave.

The $20 ticket includes the show and food. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with food service at 7 and the show at 8.

Raise the Woof is a stand-up comedy event that works with animal shelters and rescue groups to raise funds. Raise the Woof was created by comedian and producer James Uloth, who has raised over $300,000 for charities.

For the Dogs Rescue is a volunteer group whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary and to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs.

Dinner play set at Packard museum

“Ask the Man Who Owns One ... About Murder!” will be staged Sept. 28 at National Packard Museum, 1899 Mahoning Ave. NW.

This interactive mystery dinner theater performance revolves around the debut of a new Packard model and is set in the 1920s.

Ticket price includes museum admission, a fall harvest dinner and theater pass.
