Vechiarelli is Greatest, at last; Leonard wins again

If you were looking at Tippe, Trumbull, Youngstown or Oak Tree golf courses Saturday for the best action Saturday in Greatest Golfer of the Valley, you might have wanted to look over Poland way, too

In the Seniors and SuperSeniors finals at The Lake Club, two great battles ensued.

In Super Seniors, the division has known only one winner for 3 years of Greatest Golfer: Ed Antonelli.

Not any more:

Dominic Vechiarelli dueled Antonelli on Saturday, and bested him by one stroke to claim Greatest Golfer of the Valley champ for 2013.

Vechiarelli’s granddaughter, Christina Cooper, won the junior girls title in July for the family’s second Greatest Golfer title of 2013.

In Seniors, Bob Leonard returned to the Greatest winner circle he first claimed in 2010. He launched a comeback over 2-day leader Tim Porter.
