Authorities in Ohio are reporting a big jump in the number of methamphetamine labs seized this year.

State records show the number of seized meth labs jumped 467 percent this year compared with five years ago.

Agents and police found 607 labs in Ohio last year and 635 labs as of June 24 this year.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says authorities are seeing a continuous spike in the brew that can now be mixed in pop bottles.

State officials attribute much of the increase to the cheap cost and ease of making the drug.

Police reported finding 112 meth labs in 2008, although that number more than tripled to 348 the next year
