Little Scrappers capture SSBL, other titles

The Mahoning Valley 10-under Little Scrappers went undefeated in the Stark Summit Baseball League over 18 games from April 13 to June 25.

The team also placed first in five Ohio baseball tournaments: the Nations Baseball State Champions in Columbus, the North Coast Elite Champions in Barberton, the May Main Event Tournament Champions in Akron, the Triple Crown Great Lakes Opener Champions in Boardman and the Great Lakes Baseball League Early Bird Tournament Champions in Mentor. They placed second in the Muddy Diamond Preseason Showcase in Akron.

The Scrappers went 49-11 this season, competing with teams from Ohio, Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

The team was managed by head coach Kyle Kilpatrick, along with assistants Paul Mindek, Brian Massucci and Michael DeMonica.

Players include Luca Massucci from Howland, Anthony Massucci from Howland, Dominic Parise from Lakeview, Austin Vogt from Lakeview, Austen Price from Howland, Brendon Kilpatrick from Lakeview, Elijah Taylor from Warren, Jordan Sheehan from Brookfield, Connor Meyer from LaBrae, and Nicholas DeMonica from Lakeview.
