Vaughn gets eight years in Youngstown beating case

YOUNGSTOWN

Terrell Vaughn was sentenced to the maximum eight year prison term for the near fatal beating of 41-year-old Emil Smith on an East Side street April 21.

Vaughn, 35, was convicted by a jury of felonious assault in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Judge R. Scott Krichbaum said while imposing sentence that Vaughn and two of his friends destroyed Smith’s life. Smith is in a wheelchair and suffered brain damage from the beating.
