STRUTHERS

Halle Smrek had eight assists, two digs and two blocks for Struthers. Holly Kane added three kills, six digs and one block while McKenna Shives had five digs and one kill.

CANFIELD

Janie Rafoth paced Canfield with 30 assists and 19 points in a straight-set win over Champion. Darby Hepola and Natalie Garritano chipped in with 13 kills and 6 digs, respectively. Kristina Chapman and Jennifer Silman led the Flashes with four and three points, respectively. Chapman tallied two aces and two kills while Lauren Holt registered 11 digs.

Poland 25-25-18-25, Newton Falls 19-16-25-23

POLAND

Arlia Duarte had 11 kills, five blocks, 16 points, seven digs and five aces to lead Poland (1-1). Chloe Bush added seven kills and 10 points and Allison Berend added five aces. For Newton Falls, Gabby Kline had 15 kills and six blocks, Brooke Barreca had 11 kills and three blocks and Hannah Zelle had 16 points and five aces. JVs: Poland 2-1.

Marissa O’Dell made nine kills and 13 assists for the Mustangs. Meredith Grimes scored 11 points and made four blocks while Karli Romesberg made five digs. JVs: Mathews, 25-17, 25-15.

Cardinal Mooney 25-19-24-22

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

Jordan Youngs had 24 digs, 14 points and 2 aces in the win for South Range (4-0). The Raiders also received 15 kills from Ashley Shetter and 16 digs from Stevie Taylor. Cardinal Mooney’s Gina Patella led the way with 26 assists and 18 points in the losing effort.

HOWLAND

Green (1-0) opened its season with a straight-set sweep of the Tigers (1-1). Kara Rushin posted 23 assists. Cassie Murcko had 15 kills and seven points, Bailee Wolanzyk collected eight digs, and Kayla Manningham tallied two blocks. JVs: Green, 25-22, 25-12.

COLUMBIANA

Cassidy Ross led the Rebels (2-0) to a stright-set win over the Clippers (0-1) with 23 attacks, 12 kills and 6 points. Brooke Harper was also stellar with 18 attacks, 12 kills, 5 points and 4 aces. Shayla Ray led Colummbiana with 24 attacks, 16 kills and 2 points. JVs: Columbiana, 26-24, 13-25, 27-25.

Boardman 16-11-23, Massillon Jackson 25-25-25

MASSILLON

Brooke Bailey and Stephanie Spencer led Jackson (1-0)with 15 kills apiece in a sweep of Boardman (1-2). Kelly Klimo distributed 39 assists. Megan Volosin led Boardman with 9 kills and Faith Saunders posted 16 assists.
