Copper thieves strike vacant house

Boardman police discovered most of the copper of a vacant house on West Midlothian Boulevard missing on Aug. 22.

Some time between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 22. the copper was taken.

A neighbor of the vacant house called police after he discovered the door of the house open.

The copper piping is worth an estimated $5,000.

The house has been vacant for approximately one year, according to a police report. It is being managed by Marathon Construction Group of Youngstown.
