Rayen Class of 1948 celebrates 65th anniversary

NICK MAYS l THE VINDICATOR The Rayen Class of 1948 hosted its 65th anniversary class reunion Aug. 7 at Johnny’s Restaurant in Boardman. Seated, from left, are Geraldine Lucarel Brennan, Julia Mele Palazzo, Nancy Schilling Kendall, Marijane Powers Salpietra, Alice McGowen Hartig, Celeste Bartholomew Moran and Ruth Johnston Sebulsky; and standing are Marie Peachock Lenofante, Julia Paterson Watkins, Stella Ballack Scandy, Ray Francisco, Cemi Francisco, Richard Atwood, Ted Coleman, Joe Matulek, George Mays and Doris Battilock Beck. Pianist Nick Salpietra, son of Marijane Salpietra, provided music of the ’40s and ’50s. The class meets quarterly at Johnny’s, and meetings are open to all Rayen alumni.
