The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. and Chase Bank are offering a free new-homebuyer workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at YNDC, 820 Canfield Road, Youngstown.

The workshop will focus on answering five key questions for prospective homebuyers. They are:

Am I ready to buy?

What do I need to know before I apply for a loan?

What do I need to do before I start shopping for a home?

How do I go about finding the perfect home and making an offer?

What do I do after my offer is accepted?

Preschool program

YOUNGSTOWN

Information about the Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership Head Start/Early Head Start preschool program, which begins Sept. 9, can be obtained at the Youngstown MYCAP office, 1325 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, or the Western Mahoning County office, 305 North 15th St., Sebring.

Also, information is available at three community events: Mahoning County Child Support Enforcement Agency Awareness Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday , Department of Job and Family Services, Oakhill Renaissance Center, 345 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown; Volney Rogers Youth Association football season kickoff, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Volney Rogers Field off Glenwood Avenue in Mill Creek MetroParks, Youngstown; and the African-American Male Wellness Kids Walk, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 31, at Holy Trinity Church, 505 Park-cliffe Ave., Youngstown.

School supplies

YOUNGSTOWN

The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley’s annual Stuff the Bus collection of school supplies, to be stuffed into backpacks donated by Huntington Bank and distributed to children in need, is under way.

Donations of school supplies and money can be dropped off at the United Way office, 255 Watt St., Youngstown, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. For information, call 330-746-8494.
