Woman assaulted outside Boardman home

An 18-year-old Boardman woman was assaulted early today in front of a home on Lemans Drive.

The woman had received a threatening phone call and later had left her home to purchase cigarettes, when she discovered she was being followed, according to a Boardman Township Police report.

When the woman parked near a friend’s home believing she had escaped the vehicle, it pulled up in front of hers so she couldn’t drive away, according to the report. The female suspect then got out of the vehicle and began pounding on the hood of the victim’s car and threatening to kill the victim and passenger. The incident occured at 2:58 a.m.

The victim got out of her vehicle and was then hit repeatedly by the suspect. When the passenger in the victim’s car attempted to get out to stop the assault a passenger got out of the suspect’s car to prevent the assault from being stopped, according to the report.

The victim had a bump on her forehead and her cheek was bruised and swollen, according to the report.
