The 2013 Valley Legacy Awards luncheon will take place Oct. 3 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road.

The event, now in its ninth year, honors seniors and senior advocates for their contributions to the Mahoning Valley. Awards will be presented to four outstanding seniors and one outstanding advocate for seniors at the luncheon.

The community has chosen the following 27 nominees:

Outstanding Seniors

Alma Apicella of Salem; Betty Jean Bahmer, Bill and Rosemary Lowery, Daniel Mathey, Robert W. Ray and Donna J. Tompkins, all of Warren; Anna Mae Cuchna of Niles; Paul Burgeson, John E.
