CAMPBELL

Detectives continue to investigate an incident in which a 19-year-old Youngstown man was shot once in the buttocks and twice in the leg late Sunday in front of 94 Jean St.

The victim, Kewann Skinner, of East Auburndale Avenue, ran to his girlfriend’s Murray Avenue apartment, from which he was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Health Center after the 5:55 p.m. shooting, police said.

Skinner told police he did not know who shot him.

Witnesses told police the shooter was a black man between age 20 and 30, who fled in an unknown direction in a black Nissan SUV.

Police recovered three 9mm shell casings on the street in front of 94 Jean St.

Campbell police were assisted by Struthers and Coitsville police at the scene, where a large crowd had gathered.

The police report does not indicate the motive for the shooting, and detectives declined further comment, except to say they were tracking down leads and hoped to have more to report in a few days.

A hospital spokeswoman said the hospital’s policy is not to release any information concerning conditions of crime victims.
