Police have suspect in mind for Jean Street shooting

Police say the 19-year-old victim of Sunday’s shooting in front of 94 Jean St. picked a possible suspect out of a photo lineup.

However, as of Tuesday, police refused to identify the suspect, but will do so once he is in their custody, said Detective Kevin Sferra.

Kewan Skinner, of East Auburndale Avenue, was shot once in the buttocks and twice in the leg at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, then ran to his girlfriend’s apartment on Murray Avenue.

According to witnesses, the shooter was a black man between the ages of 20 and 30, who fled in a black Nissan SUV.
