BOARDMAN

A shoplifting incident turned into an assault at Gabriel Brothers in Boardman when the suspect repeatedly pushed a store employee who was attempting to stop the theft.

The suspect and two women came into the store just after 7 p.m. Monday. The women helped pick merchandise and the suspect would then put the items down his pants, according to a Boardman Township Police report.

As the suspect left the store and an employee asked the man to remove the items from his pants. The suspect shoved the employee multiple times and during one cut the employee above his right eye with a watch, according to the report.

The three fled the scene in a silver 2009 Dodge Charger, according to the report.

The suspect was a black man around 25 years old, who stands 5-foot, 9-inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds. He has a tattoo on the left side of this neck.
