BOOK SALES
Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will have its annual trunk and book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 14 in the church parking lot. The cost is $10 per space, and reservations are due Aug. 31. Only 100 spaces are available; there will be no refunds. Vendors take their own table, up to 8 feet long. The book sale will be in the parish center at the same time. Homemade baked goods, food and beverages, and a selection of fresh mums will be available. CRAFT SHOWS
Beeghly Oaks, 6505 Market St., Boardman, behind Akron Children’s Hospital, will host a craft show and bake sale Sept. 14. Crafters and bakers are needed. Cost for tables is $20. There will be a basket auction and prize. Make reservations for space by Sept. 1. Call 330-884-2300.
First Baptist Church, 7 E. Kline St., Girard, is seeking crafters for their annual fall craft show Oct. 5. The cost for table spaces is $25. Those interested should call the church at 330-545-9178 and leave a message for Sylvia Holmes.
GARAGE, RUMMAGE, YARD SALES
Calvary United Methodist Church of North Lima, 12062 South Ave. Ext., will host a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14. Call 330-482-4824 to reserve space; cost is $15 for 12-by-12 feet or $20 for 12-by-24 feet. Payment for the space is due prior to the sale. Vendors must supply tables and tents. Setup is between 3 and 7 p.m. the day before the sale, and vendors must remove tables and unsold items at the end of the sale. The church will provide advertising and will have food and cold drinks for sale. Proceeds will benefit a trip to Red Bird Mission in June 2014. Vendors scheduled are antiques, farm produce, crafts, flea market items and miscellaneous. For reservations call 330-482-4824.
Coitsville Presbyterian Church, 91 Coitsville Hubbard Road, has closed and will have a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Items for sale are kitchen pots, service pieces, dishes and glass items. Also available are church school teaching tools, choral music, craft items and books, tables and bookshelves, silk flower arrangements and seasonal decorations.
Damascus United Methodist Church, 9700 New Church St., will host its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Fill a brown paper bag for $4 all day Friday and until noon Saturday. Bags will be $1 per bag from noon until closed. Larger items will be priced separately. Proceeds will support the missions of the church. A bake sale and lunch bar also will be available.

Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane, is planning a bus trip Oct. 13 to Cleveland to see the musical “Sleeping Beauty.” Price includes orchestra seat and transportation. Dinner is on your own. The bus will leave the JCC at 2 p.m. and return at 10:30 p.m. Cost is $67 for members and $77 for nonmembers.
United Local Community Education Department is sponsoring a bus trip to Amish Country on Aug. 31 with stops at Berlin, Holmes County flea market, and a cheese and grocery store. Dinner will be at an Amish-style restaurant. The bus will leave United High School at 7:45 a.m. and return at 4:30 p.m. The cost is $8 and does not include dinner. Payment is due at registration.
