Scrappers fall in 10th to Auburn

Isaac Ballou tripled with one out in the bottom of the 10th and scored on a sacrifice fly by Andruth Ramirez as Auburn completed a comeback win over Mahoning Valley, 4-3, Saturday.

The Doubledays tied the game in the bottom of the ninth off Trevor Frank. Wilman Rodriguez reached on an error by shortstop Robel Garcia. Frank struck out the next two batters then Brenton Allen doubled to left. Rodriguez scored as left fielder Josh McAdams was charged with a throwing error.

Mahoning Valley (23-32) took a 3-2 lead in the seventh. Nellie Rodriguez led off with a single, Garcia tripled and Paul Hendrix singled.

The Scrappers, who were held to just three hits and two walks, scored in the third on an Auburn error.
