Chosen for fellowship

Dr. Adam Luchey has been selected for a fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Fla. He has just completed a five-year residency in urology at West Virginia University Hospital.

Dr. Luchey is a three-time, first-place winner for his research at the American College of Surgeons state conference, the most in the state’s history.

He is a 2001 graduate of Boardman High School. He earned his bachelor of science degree at Youngstown State University and his doctorate of medicine from Northeast Ohio Medical University.

Dr. Luchey is the son of Michael and Saundra Luchey and the brother of Lisa Kutchel, all of Boardman. His wife, Dr. Kristina Alaan, is completing her fellowship in infectious disease in Morgantown, W.Va.

Orthodontic specialist

Stephanie Golubic Rhoads graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry’s three-year orthodontic residency program with a certificate as an orthodontic specialist and a master’s degree in dentistry May 17. Rhoads defended and published her master’s thesis, titled “Examining Diagnostic Trends and Establishing Diagnostic Criteria for Dental Eruption Disorders,” in March. She was awarded second place for her research at the American Association of Orthodontists annual conference this May.

She is a graduate of Boardman High School.

She resides in Cranberry Township, Pa., where she is opening a state-of-the-art orthodontic practice, Rhoads Orthodontic Specialist, this fall.

DOCTORS

Degree in history

Whitney Anne Martinko has received her doctorate degree in history from the University of Virginia.

She is the daughter of Michael and Dana Martinko and the granddaughter of Frances Martinko and the late Michael “Mitch” Martinko, all of Campbell.

Dr. Martinko was the valedictorian of Chillicothe High School class of 2001 and received her bachelor of arts degree from Harvard College in 2005.

Dr. Martinko has accepted a position as an assistant professor of History at Villanova University.
