SOCIETY DIGEST | Dahlia show set for Davis Center

Many varieties of dahlias will be on display at the Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society 10th annual Dahlia Show on Aug. 24 and 25 at the Davis Center in Mill Creek MetroParks’ Fellows Riverside Gardens.

The hours are noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

There are 20 varieties of dahlias, and growers from the area and neighboring states will provide a display.

Judges will select and award special blooms for the Court of Honor.

The public may participate in the show and must register and stage their entries by 9 a.m. Aug. 25.

The dahlia society was formed in 2003 and is affiliated with the American Dahlia Society and the Midwest Dahlia Conference.
