First Night seeks event staffers

YOUNGSTOWN

First Night Youngstown, the family-oriented New Year’s Eve entertainment event held at multiple downtown venues, is seeking staffers for this year’s event.

Staff will receive a small monetary stipend. Mandatory training will be in November. Shift start times will vary depending on the venue, but none will end later than 10 p.m., giving staff an opportunity to enjoy the remaining festivities and the fireworks.

Performing arts class registration

Salem

Salem Community Theatre, 490 E. State St., will host fall registration for its performing arts program from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Dance, piano and voice lessons will be offered. Instructors Carrie Mazzucco (dance), Allison Oyster (piano) and Neil Meloro (voice) will register new students as well as existing ones from last year’s roster, on Sunday.

The dance program is accepting students age 3 to adult in tap, ballet, jazz, tumbling, baton and hip-hop. Pre-school and kindergarten combo classes as well as private dance lessons are also available. For more information, go to salemcommunitytheatre.org or call 330-332-9688.

‘Dancing’ champion to teach classes

Anna Trebunskaya, former “Dancing with the Stars” professional champion, will host and teach two dance classes Monday at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, 5090 Market St.

The classes are open to the public but space is limited. The cost is $35 for one or $55 for both.
