Tuesday meeting features MHA Section 8 housing coordinator

YOUNGSTOWN — The Garden District Neighborhood Association will have its next meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fellows Riverside Gardens Mill Creek MetroParks, 123 McKinley Ave.

The Section 8 coordinator from Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority will be a guest speaker. The open meeting will give attendees an opportunity to ask questions concerning Section 8 housing and how it affects their neighborhood.

Section 8 is the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.
