Shots fired at woman on Youngstown North Side street

YOUNGSTOWN — A 21-year-old city woman said a former friend fired six shots at her from a passing car at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday on a North Side street.

The woman said she and a man she used to be friends with were arguing in the yard of a vacant home in the 700 block of Delaware Avenue when he pulled out a gun, showed it to her, then got in his car and drove away.

The woman said as she was walking home the car stopped near her at the intersection of Delaware and Covington Street and the man fired several shots. The woman recovered two 9mm shell casings from the street and gave them to police, according to police reports.
