Rising country star Brynn Marie has checked off a few things on her bucket list this year, including opening shows for Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, and Cheap Trick, and performing at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn.

She’ll open Friday’s Pat Benatar concert at Covelli Centre.

Last month, the Pittsburgh native released “I’m Sorry.” The heart-wrenching ballad spotlights Marie’s vocal prow-ess, and the accompanying video portrays the emotional roller-coaster of a relationship gone wrong. A portion of the video was shot at Marie’s home.

“The director had a great vision for the video by creating a memory of visuals through black and white imagery, which resembled the great moments of this relationship in the video,” said Marie.

“Then I had an idea of building a broken home in the middle of the woods to let it resemble the emotions of someone going through the struggles of heartbreak. Throughout the video, my performance takes place simply sitting on a stool looking at the camera, as if it’s a confessional.”

Marie took a hands-on approach for the video when she scoured a scrapyard a few miles from her house for props.

“A lot of the props in those scenes were found in a scrapyard a few miles from my home,” she said. “It’s amazing what you can find.”
